Bhagavad Gita – Chapter-12- verse-18&19

सम: शत्रौ  च मित्रे च तथा मानापमानयो: । शीतोष्णसुखदु:खेषु सम: सङ्गविवर्जित: ॥ ।१८।

तुल्यनिन्दास्तुर्मौनी सन्तुष्टो येन केनचित् । अनिकेत: स्थिरमति: भक्तिमान्मे प्रियो नर: ॥ ।१९।

सम: शत्रौ  च मित्रे च तथा मान अपमानयो: शीत: उष्ण सुख दु:खेषु सम: सङ्ग विवर्जित: तुल्य निन्द स्तुति मौनी सन्तुष्टो येन केनचित् अनिकेत: स्थिर मति: भक्तिमान् मे प्रियो नर:

नर:- That person who: सम:- is equal: शत्रौ च- to an enemy: मित्रे च- and a friend: तथा- also: मान अपमानयो:- in honour and dishonour: सम:- impartial: शीत उष्ण सुख दु:खेषु- in cold, heat, happiness and distress: सङ्ग विवर्जित:- exempt from attachment: तुल्य निन्द स्तुति- equipoised in praise or repute: मौनी- comtemplative before speaking: सन्तुष्ट:- satisfied: येन केनचित्- with whatever comes on its own accord: अनिकेत:- not attached to domestic life: स्थिर मति:- fixed in determination: भक्तिमान्- and engaged in devotional service: प्रियो- very dear: मे- to me:

That person who is equal, to an enemy as well as a friend, also impartial in honour and dishonour, in cold and heat, happiness and distress, exempt from attachment, equipoised in praise or repute, contemplative before speaking, satisfied with whatever comes on its own accord, not attached to domestic life, fixed in determination and engaged in devotional service; such a one is very dear to me.
